Photo Source: Unsplash Taco Hell We called it “Taco Hell” during the 90s, because we ate fire for kicks, only to repent our sins, too late for absolution. Driving through Seattle at 2:05 AM, after closing the Blue Moon Tavern, our laps overflowed with bags of soft tacos and chalupas. We parked on the side streets to devour our bounty, with no concern for cholesterol or heartburn. Washing parched tongues with soda, we swirled lukewarm fizz inside our cheeks and tried not to spill salsa...

I’ve been waiting for you to answer my texts and emails, but I don’t tell you this: instead we talk like nothing is out of the ordinary, like betrayal doesn’t lie ahead like an off-ramp to a ghost town, long since deleted from the map. We’re on the highway for a while longer, provided I keep my foot on the gas....
