David Bowie’s "Space Oddity" was released in 1969 first as a single and then as a song on his second album entitled David Bowie.  The song peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts in 2016 after his death.  In 2018, Elon Musk drove the song back into popularity as it was the song he famously blasted in his car as his first successful rocket blasted off into space. It would still take more time, however, for David Bowie’s career to take off, as the album “Space Oddity” was on, David Bowie, was not a commercial success.
