The year 2020 was a very fruitful, productive and experimental year in my studio. My ordinary window in my living room that I look out every day became endless subject matter for me during this pandemic time. I explored all the possibilities of shapes against my window, whether seen or vague outside the window. The grid structure of the panes sometimes became a grounding element where I could play off organic shapes of my plants, reflective abstract patterns from the glass or the wispy cloud formations outside in the sky. The loose imagery is expressive in gesture, movement, color and the playful use of patterns. Here are three examples of works on paper and three works on canvas.
