“Hollaback Girl” is Gwen Stefani’s third single track off of her debut full-length album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. in 2004. This would be her first full length album as a solo artist, as she used to be the front woman for the ska punk band No Doubt. The song charted as #1 in the United States and #8 in the United Kingdom, and it was the first single to reach one million legal downloads (Songfacts). The themes of the song and the music video would partially stem from a comment Courtney Love made about Stefani in a Seventeen article, "Being famous is just like being in high school. But I'm not interested in being the cheerleader. I'm not interested in being Gwen Stefani. She's the cheerleader, and I'm out in the smoker shed.” This infectious dance-pop song still sees radio play to this day.
