The song “Young Turks” by Rod Stewart was the first single from the album Tonight I’m Yours released in the US in 1981. The song introduced a new synthpop sound for Rod that differed from his earlier folk rock and blues style. The song rose to no. 5 in the Billboard Charts in the final weeks of 1981 and stayed there through January 9,1982. Interestingly, according to Song Facts, the video for “Young Turks” was the first video played on MTV that featured breakdancing. Born in 1945, Rod Stewart ranks as of the most successful musicians of all time with record sales over 250 million worldwide according to Brit Awards.
