Peter Bjorn and John’s single, “Young Folks,” (also known as “that hipster song with the whistling”) is one of the most popular alternative songs to have come out last decade. The song was released in 2006 off of their third studio album, Writer's Block. It was featured on the pilot episode of Gossip Girl as well as episodes of How I Met Your Mother and Grey's Anatomy (Stereogum). "Young Folks" was a hit. It enjoyed 15 weeks on the Billboard charts, peaking at 155, and in the UK it spent 20 weeks on the charts and peaked at 20. To this day, this song still stands as a great indie music tune.
